  1. when your running breathe in from your nose, then out for your mouth

  2. dont eat a large amount of food and or beverages

  3. my couch always tells me eat bananas and stuff with ketchup on it the night before and i never get cramps anymore

  4. To keep from getting cramps, you're supposed to make sure that you try and take deep and even breaths while running, not gasping and quickly inhaling and choking like we runners do.

But what I do when I actually HAVE a cramp is cough out. Just do one or two quick little coughs, almost like you're clearing your throat. Don't choke on a lung or anything.

A runner taught me that, and it works in my personal experience.

    :]

The only other thing I could point out would be to keep your arms/shoulders down, and not tensed up, since that makes your chest really tight, and more likely to cramp.

Good luck in the race! Go get 'em! :)

  5. never eat food right before running i swear i have the same problem. so yeah just don't eat before running.
