  1. As long as you follow some simple rules, you will be OK:

    1. Replace your RUNNINGshoe (Don't run in anything else) after 10 month or 400 miles which ever comes first.

    2. Avoid heel strike

    3. Light stretch after run

    4. Rest 1 day per week

    5. Get enough sleep and drink a lot of water

  2. well, shin splints are a wear and tear injury. Don't jump your mileage up to much to fast. Also if possible start off your training with running on a softer surface and gradually work your way onto the pavement.

How old are your shoes? Old shoes don't have as much cushioning so you may want to thing about getting a new pair.

Get some calcium into your system to help prevent the stress fractures. Calcium fortified orange juice is really good.

Take 1 or 2 days off from running a week or if you don't want to take off go swimming just to give your body a break.

Good luck at boot camp and have fun.

  3. stretch! quads ,and shins kneel down on your shins and lean back for stretching.

    also

Running shoes! dont run in anything else-basketball shoes, tennis shoes, cross trainers will all get you hurt

  4. don't run that much
