  1. What kind of disaster are you talking about? Do you live where there are earthquakes, tornadoes, hurricanes or flooding? I live in Nevada and have some things that will make my life easier under general disaster conditions. Such as 2 Coleman stoves & lanterns and several tents that I've used while camping/fishing over night. The stoves/

lanterns use regular gas and not those worthless small bottles of propane. I also have a cupborad filled with canned & dry foods. Dry foods being rice, instant potatoes, macaroni & cheese, etc. I also have a kerosene lantern inside the house because we do lose power from time to time. I grew up in the southern part of Florida in the 60's and more than once our family would lose all power/gas to the house, so we'd also keep a couple of gallons of water. I bought my  stoves/lanterns/tents (used) off of Ebay which was a lot cheaper than buying them new from some store. Hope this helps.

  2. This is a disaster I think this gas stuff is a wake up call they should did something be for .we need to start to make cars that don't run on gas and that would give more jobs  NOT count on other country's but will the big shots learn and this flooding wake up  Bush  middle name is woulda shoulda should of.

  3. Disasters like earthquakes/accidents un predictable in nature and no hard and fast preventive measures can be given except what is already published.

However with global warming and incidents of disaster on rise all over the world, it is possible to predict cyclones, possibility of flood/tsunami etc and take action to face the adverse effects.

It is better not to venture out during a time when warning about possible disaster is made. However if one has to then it is better to carry charger which can charge mobile phone with dry cell. Reasonable amount of money/ essential medicines (if you take any regularly)/ avoid consumption of water & food to the minimum if you are stuck out of house. Keep additional bottle of cooking gas ready with essential pulses etc. And yes do not forget milk power.  Avoid contact with flood water. This much before and during the disaster.

After disaster go for a medical check up if having any symptoms of uneasiness. Avoid outside food and take other precautions depending upon the disaster depending upon the announcements of the local Administration.

Last but not the least have faith in God before, during and after the disaster.

  4. stock up on - food,water,cash,amunition

  5. hello,

preventive measure before is be brave and loose fear, because u cant stop what should happen? And always keep important things like ur certificates etc in a place where u can remember and quickly take them in emergency also keep the required telephone numbers ready, don't take any tv announcement as fun and always be ready to face it.

During the disaster be sharp in thinking and see that u and ur beloved ones are safe ,call the required people,go to safer places immediately and if u r in risk try to do something which will let the people around u know that u r in risk so that they can help u for example shouting, raising ur hands etc.

After disaster console urself becoz whatever is lost is lost forever and u cannot get them back but there is a valuable thing called present so be positive and start ur life again afterall u r lucky u have come out of such disaster. And if u have lost any important things u complain to police so that u may be luvky enough to get them back!!!!!

hope u liked my suggestion but last words i appreciate u for thinking before itself about such things but its ur responsibility to educate the others also.
