Preview: http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Houston-Dynamo-c39542 vs. Colorado Rapids (Major League Soccer—week 8)
Houston Dynamo take on fellow Major League Soccer club, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Colorado-Rapids-c38849, at Robertson Stadium on May 4 this Wednesday.
The Orange broke into the top three in the Eastern Conference last week after thrashing http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Philadelphia-Union-c40231. The
Rapids, meanwhile, have gone down to fourth spot in the Western Conference after a good start.
Die Orange started their 2011 campaign on a disappointing note, receiving a heavy beating at the hands of The Union in the season opener. However, the times have changed and as the head coach Dominic Kinnear said in offseason, the team’s primary focus is
on the home games. Kinnear troops have let their tactician down so far and need to pick themselves up.
The Rapids come into this game on the back of a draw and a defeat in their most recent games; Seatle Sounders inflicted a miserable defeat on Smith’s men while their other game against http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Chicago-Fire-c38795 resulted in a stalemate. Interestingly, though, Gary Smith
believes the draw was a step forward to a promising season this year.
Houston Dynamo
The team has been in a great shape and the last two matches bear testimony to that. In spite of being new to MLS, Kinnear rotated his squad extremely well. Will Bruin has started to surprise every one with his goal-scoring knack; the forward has hit the
back of the net an impressive four times so far, becoming the league’s second highest goal-scorer in the process.
Bobby Boswell, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Mike-Chabala-c25693, Hunter Freeman and Andre Hainault have formed a tight defence that has only conceded six goals thus far in the league. The fixture against the Rapids will definitely test their resolve.
Injury Report
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Geoff-Cameron-c14532 (lower leg contusion) are out for this game.
Colorado Rapids
The reigning MLS Cup champions are still lacking in the offensive third as evident by their last two matches. Despite getting a hatful of goal-scoring chances, Omar Cummings has failed to reproduce the form of seasons past. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andre-Akpan-c5614 scored his first goal
in his first start for Smith, which will be a welcome omen for Smith.
The defence, meanwhile, has been steady if not spectacular. The team has conceded eight goals thus far, but the likes of New York Red Bulls and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Los-Angeles-Galaxy-c39818 – in-form teams at the moment – are yet to be faced.
Injury Report
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marvell-Wynne-c24482 (hamstring strain) and Caleb Folan (quadriceps
strain) are all out injured.
Following are the respective probable line-ups for Kinnear and Smith:

Colorado Rapids

Prediction
Houston Dynamo are a good side at home and Kinnear will ensure the team bags its third consecutive match. It would be a hard fought encounter but Dynamo will come out victors with a slender 1-0 score line.
