Preview – Los Angeles Lakers versus the Golden State Warriors
The Los Angeles Lakers are growing in confidence by each passing game and coming across new talent for offence. Sadly the same cannot be said about the Golden State Warriors as they are the only team close to the Los Angeles Lakers in
the Pacific Division.
The Los Angeles Lakers will be taking on the Warriors at the Staples Centre this Sunday as both the teams have a lot of differences. The Lakers without any doubts are the stronger of the two teams being the better on the offence as well
as defence.
Kobe Bryant and Pau Gasol remain the main elements of the Lakers success being the most productive players of the team.
The Lakers have recently seen other players also taking the challenge. Matt Barnes is the latest example who score 7 out of 7 from field with splendid five three pointers taking his score to 24 points at the end of the match. Shannon Brown
is another player who will be looking to impress people in future. He scored 11 points as he came off the bench this Friday.
Los Angeles Lakers have won their last three games and have maintained an 11-2 record thus far in the regular season.
"That's the depth of our team," Bryant said. "Any given night guys can hurt you." The statement is supported by the fact that this was the 3rd time in four games that five or more players in the Lakers teams manage
to take their score into double figures with the reserves scoring 45 points coming off the bench.
"There are nights when those guys have carried us," point-guard Derek Fisher said. "They've had good scoring, played great defense and to accomplish the goal that we want to accomplish this year, we know it's going to take an entire team."
The Golden State Warriors don’t look too good ahead of the match as they have a 7-5 record in the season thus far and lost 24 out 27 meetings with the Los Angeles Lakers thus far. The Golden State Warriors has impressed many during the
past quite seasons finishing in the top scoring team but hasn’t been able to rank among the top 10 teams in the league. The Los Angeles Lakers currently head the list of the top teams maintaining an amazing 112.2 points per game average which is 10 points
more than the Golden State Warriors.
"You have to be firing on all cylinders to have a chance to beat that team," Smart said after last month's loss. "That's why they've got that (championship) banner out there."
The Warriors’ chances would be hurt by the fact that Stephen Curry won’t be available as he is one of the key players bagging 50 points in the last two games.
