Preview of qualifiers of FIVB Men’s World Championship 2010, Italy
The FIVB Men’s World Championship 2010 is a mega volleyball event, which is supposed to be played by 24 international teams in Rome, Italy. Last month, women’s major volleyball campaign, the 2010 FIVB Grand Prix completed its run from 6-29 August, 2010 in
China. This time around, FIVB Men’s World Championship 2010 has hit the town, and it will continue from 25th September to October 10, 2010. Italy has the honour to host this fabulous volleyball event and arrangements have been set in 10 different
cities.
Qualification
In the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship, two slots are reserved for the hosts, Italy and title trophy holder, Brazil. The rest of 22 places are shared by five FIVB confederations from different continents of the world.
1-    Confederation Africaine de Volleyball (CAVB)
Three slots in 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship were snatched by the African teams on account of their outstanding performance in qualification tournament. Egypt, Tunisia and Cameron jumped on the board to represent Africa in 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship.
Egypt worked up its position in Pool C by topping the qualification tournament, which was played by Egypt, Morocco, Nigeria and Botswana. Likewise, the Pool D had teams from Algeria, Tunisia, Kenya and Mozambique. Tunisia made its mark and confirmed its participation
in the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship by attaining 6 points. Following the same pattern, Cameron proved to be the best team among South Africa, Mauritius, and Zimbabwe, and they joined the winners’ class from Pool E.  
2-    Asian Volleyball Confederation (Asia & Oceania)
Four teams from AVC platform joined 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship. China, Australia, Iran and Japan will be playing in this tournament. China was placed with Australia, India and Thailand in Pool G of qualification tournament. The exciting competitions
were staged by the teams, while China and Australia settled for 1st and 2nd position. Both teams got the special tickets to 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship.
Japan and Iran played against South Korea and Kazakhstan in Pool H of qualification tournament. The hosts Japan got hold of the top-spot and Iran was most eligible for 2nd position. This was how they paved their way to play in the 2010 FIVB Men’s
World Championship.
3-    North, Central America and Caribbean Volleyball Federation (NORCECA)
North American teams also shared their part in the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship. The qualification tournament of Pool G, H, and I were played among NORCECA volleyball teams. In Pool F, the American Studs proved their endeavour and rose up to No. 1
slot. Dominican Republic, Guatemala and Panama couldn’t chase U.S. team’ s score and gave way to USA to play in the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship.
Puerto Rico and Cuba came from Pool G and Pool H. In addition Pool E promoted Canada and Mexico. Five teams captured their slots in 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship under the tag of NORCECA.
4-    South American Federation (CSV)
Argentina and Venezuela achieved success in their respective qualification tournaments and secured slots in 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship.
5-    Europe (CEV)
European Federation has the maximum number teams playing in this event. A total of nine teams entered the 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship with the label of CEV. Italy is already in the tournament for being host nation. Russia and Germany emerged as top
teams from Pool I, while Bulgaria and Czech Republic came from Pool J. Poland and France dismissed Slovakia and Slovenia in Pool K.
Serbian and Spanish men also sparkled on the scene and travelled to Italy to play in 2010 FIVB Men’s World Championship.
