Preview of second event of NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit in Guatemala
The second stop of NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit is scheduled to start on Friday, April 8 in Guatemala.
The tournament will feature some exciting matches, while the final rankings of the teams will be revealed on 10th April. The first competition of the NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit successfully completed its length from March 23-28 at the Grand Cayman
Islands.
The NORCECA Beach Volleyball Tour continues and now the sands of Campo Marte in Guatemala are ready to host the thrilling encounters of beach volleyball duos.
A total of 35 women’s and men’s duos will be competing for better status in tournament. In the men’s division, 15 duos will cross ways with each other, while 17 women’s pairs will also prove their endeavours on the centre court.
Altogether 15 countries will be represented at the second stop of NORCECA Beach Volleyball Circuit. The NORCECA Beach Volleyball Department publicized the names of participating players on last Tuesday.
The NORCECA Beach Circuit is likely to attract some of the outstanding beach volley duos from Northern America and Caribbean countries. Last year’s victorious pair of Karel Pena and Sergio Gonzalez of Cuba will be defending the men’s title as they finished
in the top slot in 2010. The Caribbean duo together worked out a great performance.
This time around, there is slight change in the team as Pena has formed partnership with a new player, Javier Jimenez.
On the other hand, the women’s section was heavily influenced by the pairing of Katherine Zakrzewski and Julie Rodrigue from Canada. They performed tremendously well and captured the top honour in the previous edition of this event. The Canadian duo has
high hopes to once again display an incredible show of beach volleyball and rock the podium.
Apart from the defending champions of Guatemala, the winners of first leg of the NORCECA Circuit in Cayman Islands are up for the challenge. The men’s duo of Josh Binstock and Richard Van Huizen enjoyed a great form and claimed the final victory last week.
It will be great to watch their game in the next leg of the NORCECA Circuit in Guatemala. Joining them in the winners’ corner were their female counterparts, Americans Brooke Hanson and Lauren Fendrick. The teams are going through extensive training for
the upcoming competition. The fans are pretty much excited and waiting desperately for the opening of the tournament.
