Previous Foster Children?

I went into foster care at 14 and went through over 50 total homes in the 4 1/2 yrs I was in the system including the foster homes, group homes, shelters, etc, I often hear about other adults who went through this. I do alot of research on how the system works out for people. Im curious if there are any other foster adults who have no family. People who left the system with no one but themselves. How do you deal with situations that to the average person would talk to their mom or dad. I recently went through a divorce and while I am ok with everything that happen to me I still crave having someone to talk to. I have never been the person to make friends, I dont really hang out with other people, just my 2 boys. Im looking for some insight on who you talk to when there really is no one to talk to. I've dont the therepy thing, Don't really need it anymore just sometimes wish I had an ear. Wonder if I'm the only one who has this problem.

  1. Hello,  I am a survivor of foster care. When I was born I was taken from my mother and father at the request of my grandmother. My mother and father were very young when they had me and during those times babies having babies was not acceptable.

For the past 10+ years at first I came up with a great idea to create a home for grown up foster children. Foster children who have graduated out of their current foster home can be scary and exciting for some depending on their situation. Some go on to be successful and have families and life is good. Then you have some who go on but have issues because they do not have enough support.

I am looking to have previous foster children to bond together on face book with the hopes of becoming support for one another. To have a surrogate family to share special occasions like birthdays, graduations, birth of a new baby, weddings, holidays etc….. A lot of us do celebrate these occasions alone.

If you are interested please come and join me on my mission.

I have a son and have been divorced for 13 years now. I have not been able to get married ever since. After a lot of soul searching, I finally figured out what my reason for being here is. It is to make sure these children of God are being taken care of.

    Sincerely,
