I requested this change to my security key since I have been identified as a victim of identity theft by the Attorney General of the State of Nevada.I previously tried to request a new security key in the past to no avail. I never received an answer to this request. I even contacted the CEO of Yahoo.

  2. You can change your Security Key.  Here is how to change it.

To change your security key, click the Account Info link on the top of any personalized property (such as My Yahoo!) and then click the Change My Security Key link. You are then prompted to enter your old security key and choose a new one.

Have you also tried the copy and paste?

Follow the instructions for generating a One-Time Security Key. When you receive the One-Time Security Key by email:

Use your mouse to highlight the security key code in the email by left-clicking on the mouse and dragging it across the code.

Next, go to the Edit feature at the upper-left of the email message and select "Copy."

Now click the link in the email. The link should pop open a page that says "Enter One-Time Key Here."

Click the mouse one time in that box. Then go back to Edit and scroll down to "Paste." The code, appearing as stars, appears in the field.

Now you can choose your own new security key. See our tips for creating a new security key.
