The Genoa President has stressed that he has a concrete deal in place with the Giallorossi, while there has been no contact from the Italian Champions for the young striker.
Genoa President Enrico Preziosi has sidelined all rumours that Juventus are holding up Mattia Destro’s move to AS Roma, and has revealed that the Bianconeri have expressed no interest in signing the striker so far.
The young attacker is current co-owned by Genoa and Siena, and the player is negotiating a contract with the Giallorossi in order to finalize the move approved by the co-owners.
However, the transfer has been stalled due to a disagreement regarding salary between the capital outfit and the striker, with reports suggesting that the delay has a lot to do with the Old Lady’s offer of a better contract.
Enrico Preziosi revealed that he was approached by AS Roma at a time when he had not resolved the co-ownership of Destro with Siena, and stated that due to that reason the Giallorossi naturally have the upper hand in dealings regarding the attacker.
The Genoa boss went on to add that he is yet to receive any contact from Juventus regarding the starlet, and also mentioned that Inter Milan choose to drop out of the contention long before.
While talking to Sky Sport 24, the Rossoblu patron said:
“There is an agreement made with our club - Roma asked for Destro when we had not even redeemed him from Siena and we reached an agreement with them. Juve has not asked us anything, whilst http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 fell to one side.”
The statement has come as a reaction to Siena President Massimo Mezzaroma’s statement, suggesting that the Siena attacker has the option of choosing between the two clubs.
Preziosi reiterated his stand on Destro’s deal with AS Roma, and insisted that there is no possibility to get a better price for the striker despite the rumoured competition.
The Genoa President was adamant that going through with the deal with the Giallorossi remains the best scenario for all the parties involved.
"Again, I have a commitment to give him to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603, there is no possibility to make a million more from this deal. We have an agreement that is good for both us and Siena.” He added.
