Preziosi in the market for Quagliarella or Amauri, confirms the President: Serie A news
Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi, has revealed that they are tracking Juventus strikers, Amauri and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Fabio-Quagliarella-c13194, and might make a move for either of them in the January transfer window.
The strike duo has shifted down in the pecking order of strikers at the club and both of them are yet to make a full start in the 2011/12 season. Despite a decent start to the season, the Rossoblu have had goals hard to come by
and they need a reputable partner for http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Rodrigo-c31437 Palacio.
Amauri has also been tracked by Cagliari and Bologna and Genoa might join the tug of war with them. On the other hand, Quagliarella is on A.C Milan’s radar after they lost http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302 through heart trouble.
Preziosi has revealed his interest in the former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003 stars and believes that either of them would help them in achieving their season objectives. The Griffin finished on the 10th
spot last season and Preziosi is looking to better that position this time around. The chief has insisted his team to build on the positive start to the season and they must continue their good form.
While talking to the reporters, Preziosi said, “http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Amauri-c5381 and Quagliarella are two attackers who I like and who I am interested in. We have to be alert in January because we can’t afford to make any mistakes as we want to improve
on last season.”
The chief admitted that he tried to sign a few quality strikers in the summer too and failed with bids for Antonio Cassano, http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alberto-Gilardino-c4324 and Diego Forlan.
“I made Fiorentina an offer for €10m, plus bonuses, for Alberto Gilardino. They turned it down. I also spoke to Milan’s Antonio Cassano and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Diego-c11058 Forlan [before he left Atletico Madrid for Inter].”
The chief revealed that midfielder, Juraj Kucka, can leave for Inter Milan in the January transfer window but he wants a player in exchange. Preziosi is interested in taking the Nerazzurri midfielder, Joel Obi, in return.
“http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Juraj-Kucka-c20099 to Inter? Yes, but I need a player in exchange. Someone like Joel Obi…”
Kucka’s 50% ownership rights were purchased by http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 Milan in the summer transfer window.
