The Marassi chief desperate for Marco Borriello signing
Genoa President, Enrico Preziosi, is predicting a busy January transfer window for his team and has talked on the transfer rumours.
A.C Milan and Genoa swapped Stephan El-Shaarawy and Alexander Merkel in the summer transfer window and reports in the media suggest that the two players might return to their old clubs in January. However, Preziosi has rejected
the talks and insists that there is no chance of any deal as such. Both players have failed to find regular first-team action but despite that the chief insists that Merkel is an important member of Genoa’s future plans and they will not sell him at any cost.
The 63-year-old also ruled out a return for El-Shaarawy and insisted that they will loan him to another club if Milan decide to offload him.
While talking to the reporters, Preziosi said, “Merkel is staying here, he’s untouchable. El Shaarawy won’t come back either. If he moves then Milan and us could agree to loan him to a different club for six months.”
The Marassi chief is not ruling out a return for A.S http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Marco-Borriello-c23672. The Italian international is heavily linked with a reunion with the Rossoblu after finding first-team opportunities hard to come by at the Stadio
Olimpico Rome.
Preziosi admitted that he would love to see the former A.C Milan striker at the Stadio Luigi Ferraris because he has done well during his one year stay at the club. Borriello spent the 2007/08 season at Genoa and managed to score
19 goals in all competitions throughout the campaign.
“I hope he arrives. He did very well with Genoa in the past. If the opportunity to get him back is possible then we’ll have a go, otherwise we’ll do something else. If he does leave then Genoa would be his priority.” added the
chief
The President is coy over the swap deal of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Emiliano-Viviano-c12483 and insisted that they will know more about it next summer.
“I haven’t had any contact for Kucka yet. As for Viviano, we co-own him, but we’ll discuss his future again in June.”
