Price Of A Mixed Breed Puppy?

Do you think that paying $300 dollars for a mixed breed puppy is too much?

That is definitely too much for a mixed breed puppy.  I recommend the local animal shelter like everyone else.  They're far less expensive.

yes! only pay that much for a pure breed.  Go to an animal shelter and adopt one for $40 and know that you saved a life.

why would you even consider paying that kind of price when there are millions of homeless shelter dogs who need to be rescued and given a loving home before they are put to sleep?!?

For that price..  that pup better be spayed/neutered, wormed, shots, microchipped, and come with some basic supplies (crate, food, toys, etc)

You can get a puppy for far less. Just log onto your local animal shelter web page and look through the dog pictures for a puppy.

Actually, some of the dogs at my local shelter go for that much... though, those are the high-demand dogs.  Usually purebred dogs, puppies or adult, or younger designer-dogs (mixes) since they are still in high demand.  They do a sliding scale of price based on "desirability" so that when someone drops down $400 for the younger labradoodle that is currently there, it'll help out the older or sicker dogs that need a lot more time and care to be adopted.

In general, a mixed breed pup at this shelter would go for $150 or less, and will be spayed/neutered, microchipped, have basic testing done and be up to date on their required vaccines.  Some of them even have a little bit of training already through the volunteers and the shelter's training program.

it depends on what you are looking for

just your regular mixed breed dog that's too much/

but say a hypo allergenic mix no that is reasonable

or the "designer mixes" no that is not too much

so your question needs a little more detail

cause there is such a wide range

but for just any mix its too much go to your local shelter

Any mixed breed is a mistake and are a dime a dozen.  They are not reproducible so they are not worth more than the shots, and maybe the spay/neuter fee.

Yes. Go to your local animal shelter, they have lots of mixed breed puppies, and the adoption fee is a lot less than $300.
