On a local news channel, I saw a story about a service that Amazon.com is offering some new service, where you send a text message with either the name of or barcode number of a product (while you are at a store) to some number, and it will give you Amazon.com's price for it, so you could determine if it was cheaper to get the item at the store or through Amazon.

Did anyone else see anything like that on any news report? I think it was on KMOV, St. Louis's CBS, or KTVI, Fox.

If so, is it through Amazon or some third-party?

If so, what is the number?

  1. The service is from Amazon, the number is 262966. Check out the link below...

  2. It is directly through amazon.com. Go on their website and they should have a link to the number to text and what to include in text. I think it's a great feature and good for comparison shopping.
