I am in the middle of planning my wedding in Nerja in Spain and would like to have it in september. This does not suit alot of my family with children in school so could you tell me will there be much of a price difference (flights, accommodation etc..) between going in august or september. Is september classed as peak time? Thanks

  1. August is HIGH SEASON vacation month in Spain...everything will be more expensive, harder to get reservations, strikes more likely, longer lines every where, harder to park or get a taxi (except in Madrid).  On September 1, there will be a noticeable drop in all inconveniences, but prices don't usually drop until September 15.

And, it is your wedding...others are out-of-line and rude to balk at the timing you choose!

  2. There will be in the region of approx £200.00 per person for the holiday in August

  3. Defiantly a difference in price . Hundreds of pounds in fact. most children in the UK go back around the 4th of September to school . So any weeks after that the prices really come down . Not as many people are after the same holiday so obviously the holidays come down in price .  Always found prices to drop in September .

I have just been pricing holidays up on the net and the one I am interested if i go the first week in september it's £249 pound per adult cheaper then going the week before .

  4. As previous people have said there will be a difference. I am being very irresponsible saying this but as far as I remember I never really learnt anything new in the first 2 weeks after the summer holidays go in september take kids to plenty of sites museums etc get them to order their food and drinks in spanish I think this will be a fantastic education in itself

and save you a small fortune

  5. Do it in September!! August is main season, not only here in Spain, but all over Europe, so the country is packed and over priced. Even the first week of September might be h**l when it comes to the costs.

  6. Yes - August is a lot More expensive due to school holidays

  7. August is THE peak month in Spain as it`s when the vast majority of the Spanish take their holiday. There`s a huge difference in price . The weather is still great and there`s still plenty of atmosphere in September. I`ve lived here for 15 years. September. september september!
