Discuss the market conditions required for price discrimination to occur. Provide two examples which demonstrate price discrimination.

  1. the biggest example of price discrimination that i can think of is the seats at professional sporting events... the closer the more expensive


  2. Dumping = Sell goods in a foreign country for less than what is sold in their country.  (same stuff different prices)

    Two Part Tarriff = Costco In order for you to buy in costco you need to be in a membership.  The more you buy the more rewards you get in the end of the year.  

    (more you buy the cheaper it becomes plus in order for you to buy goods you must pay to be a member)

    Tie Ins Sales (bundling with a requirement) such as IBM requiring that you buy their cards if you lease their computers.
