Price for a new uk passport?

does anyone know what the true price is for a new british passport my friend was saying it was about £84 but when i looked on the passport website it says £72 does anyone know the real cost? and also i would like it to be checked at the post office too

gavmel is right its 72 for the passport and 7 pound for post office checking service so altogether its 79 pound, i know this as i did mine last friday!

they charge you to check the details on the form.

ortherwise its just 72

wayyyy too much, it made me want to cry. It's about £80.

It costs £72 for a new 10 year adult passport. I think it is an extra £7 for it to be checked at a post office.
