Price of a cavity?

As an uncommited estimate, what do you think a fair price is to fill a tooth cavity? In California -

my cost not the insurance company cost $50, $100, $150, $300??? Why shouldn't I go over the border to get a better value (aside of the gas impact). Do we think with our hearts or our wallets?

  1. The only drawback to going over the border to get dental work done, is that if something goes wrong during the procedure(s), what can you as a patient do about it.  If a US licensed dentist does the work, you can always go to his state licensing board if you need to.  If a Mexican dentist does the work, and there are problems, who can you go to if you are not satisfied by him regarding the work?
