Question:

Price of hydrogen from wind?

It seems interesting because the production of 1 m3 of hydrogen needs around 4 kwh of wind energy that costs about 0.04 $...

Can I produce directly ammonia(hydrogen storage) from a wind energy park without paying some federal tax on (my) electric energy?

Thanks.

  2. It's really ^3 interesting...

You can produce a cheap ^ 3 wind energy and use it to produce ammonia...

You would be an ammonia producer so you won't buy any tax on your wind energy.

  3. Hmmm.  If I am understanding your question correctly, you want to use wind energy to make ammonia which will serve as a storage source for hydrogen.  And you want to know if you will have to pay federal taxes on the hydrogen you produce?

I know that people can have solar panels and use them to generate energy for their homes & sell the excess to the power company.  I don't think they pay taxes on that.  So, if you are concerned about paying taxes on energy you make (hydrogen via ammonia), there is probably an amount you can make without paying taxes or certain uses that are not taxed.

But you should certainly check with a tax professional to be sure.  You never want the IRS breathing down your neck!
