  1. from best buy it can run between 50 and 100 per stick.

Do a search from their website, to see prices.

  2. Ram memory size, depends on how much the motherboard was designed to support. Most newer motherboards will support 4GB's. This equates to 3.2 to 3.5GB's with a 32 bit Operating System. The usual Windows XP Home, or Pro, is an example of a 32 bit O/S.

Some motherboards will support 8GB's of ram memory. You have to have a 64 bit O/S to realize this. (Realize this. Means that the O/S will 'recognize' the 8GB's of ram)

Things you need to know about your computer,(Specifically, breaks down to the motherboard), when purchasing ram memory for it.

1.What is the maximum Total amount?

2.What is the maximum amount for each ram slot?

    3.What style is it? (DDR? DDR2? DDR3?)

4.What frequency speed does it operate at? (PC3200=DDR at 400MHz. PC5300=DDR2 at 667MHz. PC6400=DDR2 at 800MHz. Just some examples.)

(Since you stated you have 2GB of ram, and "want to upgrade both of them", this means you have 1GB each, in two ram slots to me. You have a DDR or DDR2 style ram computer. Because of this, I won't list that you need to know what Chip Configuration, the ram uses. This pertains mostly to SDR Sdram, as the way it was made back then, and not to the DDR Sdram, and DDR2 Sdram of today. If you had DDR3 Sdram, you would know it. It's usually used by pro's in gamer systems they have built.)

Why did I state this when you 'said' you were going to buy the same kind? Because maybe the pre-built computer manufacturer you bought it from, didn't put the maximum speed ram memory the computer will support, in it. Saved them money!

What style is it, what speed is it, (Ram memory), and what computer maker and model is it? Tell me this, and I can give you examples of price. I don't need to know who made the ram. There are sales that go on all the time, for ram from the best ram makers in the world.

Corsair XMS2 DDR2 at 800MHz,(PC6400), is $32 bucks for two->1GB sticks of high-performance ram right now. (After mail-in rebate) Tigerdirect.

Edit: Hey STARBUCK! I suggest you never buy from BestBuy, if their ram is $50 to $100 A STICK! Sheesh!
