Question:

Price range for Opal wedding ring?

The wedding ring I am looking for needs to contain an Opal in it, rather than a diamond. I have no idea what this generally costs, however. Can anyone provide me with some accurate numbers?

  1. Opals are alot less that diamonds, often at about 1 tenth the price.

Take note, however, that they are a soft stone, and crack and pit relatively easily, so your fiance will need to be careful with it.

for cost on opals loose try:

    Good luck!

  2. Standard white opals will be alot less than diamonds, doublets are more expensive. Keep in mind that opals are pretty much too soft for everyday wear and make them unsuitable for engagement rings.

But here are some that would work:

this one has a relatively flat side so that it is easy to add a wedding band:

  3. Opals are lovely, and often come with diamonds as sidestones or accents.

Price range would go from probably 100 and up!

The thing you would have to be careful of is making sure you can get a wedding band to fit/match around the centre stone.

  4. Opal is my birthstone, Their are many different types and colors. My husband gave me a Fire Opal for Christmas one year bright orange, red and blue in it , gold wide band a large oval Opal and it cost $1000.00 it all depends on the size and color. And it is true the Opal is one of the softest stones. If you are going to wear it every day , I don't suggest an Opal. I have replaced three Opal's in three different rings. Not the Fire Opal, I only wear that for very special occasion's

  5. a good one is a couple hundred to several hundred depending on what metal you use. don't forget opals come in different shades, white/pink/transluscent is my fave and my birth stone.
