Prices from 1978???

Need, need need help!!!!I want to know prices from 1978 on things such as:

-gas prices?

-sales tax?

-a new vehicle(any new vehicle!)?

-any other random prices from 1978 along those lines would be very much appreciated!!!!!! Prices need to be from Canada please!!!!

All I know is that gas prices were 63 cents a gallon in the USA in 1978, that puts it at 17 cents a litre here in Canada by comparison. However, in talking with my mom she seems to think that gas prices were about 21 cents per litre here in Canada in 1978/79. That seems appropriate because our relative gas price has always been higher here in Canada than in the USA, even today. I would use the 21 cents per litre price then.

There was no GST back in 1978, only a manufacturing tax of like 12.5% i believe it was that was included in all manufactured prices in those days (not added on at the til to the final consumer). PST in Ontario would have been 7% (it is now 8%) in 1978.

The cost of a new vehicle in 1978 was between $ 5500 and $ 6400 depending on the vehicle. A good average was $ 6000
