  1. Sorry but Burton Sowboards doesn't know what he's talking about. He's pricing items as though they were being sold in stores. This is a garage sale not a garage rip off. Of course you want to price things at  decent price where they will sell but where you can also make decent money.

Stuffed Animals- depending on size small ones would go for .50-$1 and larger ones would go for $2-$3

Books- paperback of course would cost less than hard cover and would probably go for $2 and hard cover for $3.50. If you have a books that are in a serise, you could put them at a special price such as paperback 2 for $3 and hard cover 2 for $6.

Handbags- anywhere from $5-$10 but not over $10 unless they are designer but still keep in mind that people are shoping for sales.

    Nighlights- $1.50

    Jewlery boxes- $2

Belts- $2 and depending on how many you have you could have a special deal like with the books such as 3 for $6

    Chinese paper lamp- $1-$2

Hand held games- $5 at the very most

    Book covers .25-.50 each

    Bracelets- .50-$1 each

i-Pod player- condsidering the condition its in I would say $5-$10 depending on size

Hope this answered all of your questions and you have a great yard sale. If you don't like the prices I have provided you may also price your items 1/3 of what you paid for them which is most common for garage sales.

    - nightlight $3.50

    - bracelets $10.00

  3. If you really want to get rid of this stuff you can sell them in bag fulls and charge $1 to $5 dollars for the whole bag, that way you don't have to price each one and it helps get rid of stuff nobody would buy. Good Luck!

  4. Usually, with these sales, you end up taking a hit, meaning, you're going to be selling them a LOT less than what you paid.  I see the previous poster mentioned $15.50 for books, NO ONE will pay that for books.  It's more like $1.50 for books, I hate to say it, but more and more people are going to try and talk you down on prices.

I would price things to sell.

For the stuffed animals, depending on how big they are, I would make them be anywhere from .50 to $3,  I'm not sure I would go over that unless there's a real big one and it's in great shape, but remember you want to sell!

For books, I wouldn't go more than a couple bucks.

For handbags, it depends on the designer, if they're not designer, I wouldn't go more than $8 or so,  if you can get more, great, but I wouldn't ask for more than $10.

For nighlights, I would say $1

For small jewelry boxes, a dollar or two

    belts, the same thing

    Chinese paper lamp, $1

    Hand held games a dollar

    book covers .25-.50

I know it doesn't seem like a lot and it's not, but most of the people that frequent these sales are out for bargains and are not willing to pay.  I've had experience with them, and it's HARD!  I've had to sell things that were brand new, in the box, NEVER opened, appliances, that I paid $50, I sold for $5, otherwise, it was being donated, because NO ONE was buying it at $20 or even $10 that I was asking, they felt it was a tag sale and it didn't matter that it was new, it was a tag sale and they didn't care!

I hope you do better at your's and that people give you the price that you want!  Good luck and have a GREAT sale!
