  1. I would say they were intellectually equal. Elizabeth and Darcy are shown in many places to be very quick-witted and smart.

    Also, they were both very honest and forthright people. They were always telling people exactly what they thought, even if it was not the polite or "correct" thing to say.

    Both are very devoted people when it comes to those they love. Elizabeth shows her deep devotion for her family and friends throughout the novel, as does Darcy.

    The novel also shows in many ways that they were both quick to judge others. This is the basis for practically all of the problems that occur in their relationship - they both judge too hastily and harshly. This is also basically where the title of the novel comes from - both of them are extremely proud, and often wrongly prejudiced against others.
