Ok I need help. I need to find the setting. How does it create its atmosphere? How does it play important role in the plot and characterization? Any websites or books?

  2. it was in england in the 1800s.

  3. Pride and Prejudice is set in an English village in Hertfordshire, in the early 1800s.  The setting is important because people living in small country communities in those days were very well-informed about their neighbours, activities, and very excited and curious about any visitors or new settlers in the area. Everyone liked to know what was going on in the neighbourhood, so that the fact that Netherfield Park has been let, after it has evidently been empty a long time, is a source of great excitement in the neighbourhood, especially to ladies like Mrs Bennett, who have daughters they are anxious to marry off.
