Which should I read?

They're both by the same author, and are romancy stories..so I have no idea which to choose!

Do you have a favorite?

If you do is it because of the:

characters / drama / length of the book / ideas / comedy ... etc.

Help me out please!

THANK YOUUU

  1. You should read both.  But start with Pride and Prejudice since she wrote it first

  2. I love both stories but if I had to choose I would pick Pride and Prejudice.  The characters and story are both fantastic.

  3. I believe Pride and Prejudice is the better book. Austen had practiced as a writer and had improved. Her characters are deeper. Her plots and wit are more highly developed. But Sense and Sensibility is also great.

  4. Pride and Prejudice is my favorite novel. I love everything about it from the quirky characters to the wonderful dialog and pithy prose. There is a lot of wit and humor in the story, and the characters are so real to me that I have a difficult time believing they didn't actually live and breathe.

Sense and Sensibility has some comedic elements and interesting characters. However, it doesn't have the same amount of humor as Pride and Prejudice. It's a great story but slightly more somber in tone.

You can't go wrong reading either of the two you mentioned or, in fact, any of Jane Austen's other books: Persuasion, Emma, Northanger Abbey and Mansfield Park.

  5. Pride and Prejudice all the way!!!! Loved the characters, romance, it is just an awesome book.

  6. The answer is obvious: Read BOTH.

If you really want to read exactly one, go for Pride and Prejudice.

Both the books are free to read. You find both of them here:

    Nice, isn't it? :-)

    Happy reading!

  7. Why don't you read both? :D

  8. Both are very good, however I liked Pride and Prejudice a teeny bit more.

Sense and Sensibility is more about the close friendship the two sisters share despite their differences than romance. It's a sister book. Pride and Prejudice I like better because of all the romantic tension, ha ha!

But I think Persuasion is the best one. It's about rediscovering love, unlike P&P and S&S, which is about finding [and keeping] love.

  9. Pride and Prejudice was my favorite, despite it's greater popularity. But if you can, read S&S afterwards, because it is still very good also.

  10. They're both brilliant books by a fantastic author. You should read both. However, I recommend Pride and Prejudice first because it is easier to understand and I liked Lizzy better.
