  2. Well, in Chapter 6, he's starting to be captivated by Elizabeth, when he stands around listening to her conversations with others at parties. However, he was still pretty prideful when he visited Elizabeth at the Collin's home, in Chapter 32 -- not saying much, just visiting.  And his proposal!  "OK, I want to marry you, but heaven's knows why, your connections are lamentable!"  How much more prideful can you get?!  But his letter in Chapter 35 is one of the turning points, I think, when he explains what happened with Wickham and his sister, because he can't bear to have Elizabeth thinking ill of him for the wrong reasons. However, Chapter 43 shows us a completely different Mr. Darcy, when he greets Elizabeth and Mr. and Mrs. Gardiner with civility and pleasure to Pemberley.
