Primaeval taken to beat Masteroftherolls and Counterglow in 32Red Conditions Stakes at Kempton
James Fanshawe’s 6-year-old speedy horse, Primaeval, has multiple things in his favour, and is taken to get the better of Godolphin pair Masteroftherolls and Counterglow in the 32Red Conditions Stakes, to be staged at Kempton on Thursday, September 20, 2012.
Owned by The Foncey Syndicate, Primaeval has been doing a wonderful job since the start of this year. He started off his 2012 campaign with a decent effort at Meydan, where he was second to Ip Man in the Saeed & Mohammed Al Naboodah Group (Handicap) (Tapeta).
After grabbing the runner-up spot, he raised his game to seal a couple of consecutive triumphs. After proving too good for his opponents at Kempton, he perpetuated his good work to ensure a comprehensive win at Goodwood in May.
The class 2 Wright Joinery Company Stakes (Handicap) saw him living up to the expectations. He stayed ahead all the way through, securing the first rank by a couple of lengths.
After two fascinating victories, the son of Pivotal completely lost his rhythm, and suffered an awful defeat at Royal Ascot in June. In the Buckingham Palace Stakes (Handicap), he raced far side, and soon got weakened. As a result, he could only seize the
21st place.
A terrible loss dented his confidence awfully, but the skilful runner did not let things get worse. He quickly got his act together, and showed good improvement last time out.
In a very tough contest at Ascot, he was an unlucky loser. The Fly London Southend Airport Handicap saw him finishing sixth behind Don’t Call Me earlier this month.
On Kempton’s standard track, he is highly likely to show more improvement. Although there are many in-form fellows in the opposition, one should not rule out his chances.
He is due to face 10 speedy horses in the 1-mile meeting. As per the plan, the class 4 clash will be kicked off at 20:10 GMT. The champion runner will leave the field with a prize worth £4,075.
Masteroftherolls, Counterglow and Nazreef, all will be tough competitors, but a chance should be taken only on Primaeval, who is showing steady progress these days. Good luck to all the horses.
