Primark Question - Please help!?

I know this might seem like a pointless question to some of you, but here goes.

I bought a top from primark last week, i usually shop there and always buy the clothing in a size 8. I shop there that often that when i saw a top i liked i didnt feel the need to try it on before buying it, as i always fit into that one size.

However today when i was planning on wearing it, it didnt fit on the arm area, and i havent got the recipt to take it back. The tag with the barcode etc is still on so i dont know if i could just exchange for a bigger size? I know differant stores have differant policies, as i myself work in retail.

So should i be able to exchange? Thanks in advance guys =) xo

you will be able to exchange it-its refunds without receipt thats a problem

Yes, majority of all stores will freely exchange or issue a voucher where there is no receipt. You would not get a refund.

nahh.....most shops will need the reciept to exchange

you should really try on clothes before you buy them, but primark have SUCH long queues that i never try on clothes there

and the clothes are so cheap and rip after you have worn them once, it doesn't really matter

either you can ditch the top, buy another one or if you liek it THAT much, you can have it tailored to fit at the arms, but that would cost much more than getting another oone

They can insist on a receipt.

Legally they don't have to exchange it or give you a refund or credit note unless is damaged or faulty in some way.

haha yeah they should exchange it

but probably wouldn't give u a refund cause u dont have the receipt.

they should let you trade it for a bigger one though :)

You have a case under the Sale of Goods Act - items of merchantable quality, and fit for purpose.

A size 8 should fit a size 8 customer.  If it doesn't, it has been cut badly and you should take it back.

Without a receipt, you can probably only expect replacement goods, but if they are at all interested in their reputation, they will service your complaint.

lol just like me! i do the same thing!! the queues are massive!! anyway if you still have the tag on the will definately let you take it back!! :P well let you switch it for another size !!!!!!! i know!!!!!! hope this helps!!!!

most stores will normally do an exchange if you dont have a receipt

if u still have the tag they will give u an exchange but cant guarantee the refund since u lost the receipt, i know stores like best buy if u don't have ur receipt they can reprinted, so good luck and always try it on before buying.

primark will not do anything, nothing at all, without a receipt, so i wouldn't waste your time going down.

If the tag is still on there then yes they will exchange it for a bigger size without a receipt.
