  1. Start with a good attorney and a pocket full of money. I have sixty thousand dollars in attorney fees to get custody of my daughter and have not made that goal yet. This has been going on for the past six years.  My daughters mother lives with a guy that has been arrested on drug charges, stolen vehicle and nine dui charges. The courts feel this is ok because they are not married. Go figure. OH by the way you still have to pay child support while paying an attorney. Good luck!!
