  1. chavez would have never lost to kirkland laing. so i say chavez

  2. it depends at what weight class but that sure would have been something special to watch thats for sure

  3. duran outpoints chavez over 15 hard fought rounds.

  4. I gotta agree with Albert P, at 135 Duran would have taken Chavez, and anyone else in history.  Roberto was the perfect light weight, power, speed, aggression, and a unstoppable will coupled with an iron chin and a mean streak that was legendary.      Duran won world titles from 135 to 168, an unbelievable accomplishment.  There are many great champions, but there is only one Roberto Duran.

  5. Duran.

He had more energy in the ring.  A proven 15-rounder.

  6. CHAVEZ WINS AT  130

    DURAN WINS AT 135

  7. Duran was a better boxer than people gave him credit for.  He was smart and was at his best at 135.  After learning he can't seriously hurt Chavez, Duran would actually box him.  He had better defense than Julio and he would make him miss often.

Duran could do it all.  He was also a bit faster than Chavez.  Duran could avoid punches from close range very well.   He would not fight a dumb fight like Meldrick Taylor did, and stand directly in front of Chavez.

Chavez was one of the toughest fighters who ever boxed.  However, like Hagler, he could take it but he wasn't a KO puncher.  He wouldn't seriously hurt Duran either.

Duran would win on points in 15 rounds.

  8. Duran! He was the best lightweight ever. He was constant motion, tireless, nasty, hands and chin of stone!

Chavez was great but definitely a step down from Duran.

  9. Julio Cesar Chavez!

It would be a great fight, but JC get's the edge cuz he has the better chin. Duran might have "the hands of stone" but JC has a head like a rock!

  10. Duran by convincing decision

  11. I have to go with Duran at 135. If you line them up side by side. They both could punch I would probably say Duran was actually the harder puncher. And Duran had some really good boxing skills; jab, head movement rolling with punches. I can't see Chavez walking down an all around fighter like Duran.

    Duran by mid round stoppage.

  12. At 135, no one could beat Duran.
