They both had the same style(peek-a-boo) and they were both trained by Cus D'Amato during the early stages of their career. Who wins and why?

  1. tyson would ko patterson rd 1 dumb question

  2. Patterson could never take a punch and could be intimitated, wach the two Liston fights, that is what Tyson would do to Patterson, hit him once Floyd is looking to get our of there.

  3. Floyd was a gentleman and fine boxer.  Unfortunately, that wouldn't help him against Tyson.  Patterson had NO chin at all and Tyson would expose that glaring weakness very early.  Tyson knocks Patterson down twice within the first two minutes and then finishes the job knocking him out cold with one of his right to the body, right uppercut, left hook combos.  And that's all she wrote!

  4. Mike would kayo Floyd, too much of speed and power, probably anywhere from one to three rounds.

  5. Tyson. If Johanson could KO Floyd, I think Tyson would knock him into the 3rd row.

  6. Tyson by first round knock out. Someone above me said that Spinke did not have a chin. Michael only lost one fight and that was to Tyson so how could you say Michael Spinks had no chin. And Michael Spinks was never knock down in a fight.

  7. nobody was beating tyson in his prime

  8. Tyson KO1.  Too fast, too strong. Floyd was a really good fighter, but no match for Iron Mike. if Floyd handlers would have ever let this fight happen, they need to be shot for potentially getting their fighter seriously injured.

  9. Mike Tyson knocks Floyd Patterson out very early in the fight, most likely in the first round.  If he fought Tyson, it would have been similar to his 2 fights against Sonny Liston in which he was knocked out in the first round both times.  Patterson was a very good champion and up until Tyson came along, he was the youngest heavyweight champ in history, and he was the first heavyweight champion to ever regain the title.  He is a very accomplished hall of fame fighter, but there's no way around the fact that he had a glass jaw.  He has one of the weakest chins in heavyweight championship history, and I'm not just talking about the Liston fights.  Watch his trilogy with Ingemar Johannsen- he was up and down like a yo-yo in those fights.  Tyson would have caught him cold very early in the fight with a hard right hand and Patterson may or may not get up, but as soon as he does get up, Tyson will be on him and keep putting him down until he either can't get up or the ref is forced to stop the fight.  If a prime Tyson caught him flush with one of his uppercuts, I don't think that he would be able to get up (although he would always try because Patterson never lacked in heart; the same cannot be said about Tyson...).

  10. Tyson wins easy. Maybe even a first round ko. Liston stopped Floyd twice in the first round. Floyd had a glass jaw and should have been a lightheavyweight. Tyson hit too hard.

  11. Tyson.

    He's bigger and harder.

  12. Tyson would steam roll Patterson in a matter of seconds.

Look what Liston did to him, and Liston was slower and did not have the combos Tyson did.

  13. It's all in the numbers, Tyson vs Spinks all over again.

Spinks was not fast enough to escape,

Not powerful enough to gain Tyson's respect,

Doesn't take Tyson's punch well enough to survive long.

Patterson is a little faster than Spinks but not fast enough to make  a difference.  Spinks takes a better punch than Patterson.  .........

.........all this and Tyson at least matches Liston in power and FAR exceeds him in speed.

    Same result

    Tyson by KO in 1

  14. As much as I like Patterson, I simply can see no way that he can beat Tyson.  Patterson does have good handspeed and a good left hook but would not be able to withstand the power and tenacity of Tyson.  I say that Patterson does survive the first round, but would be kayoed in round 2 by a vicious uppercut from Tyson and would be unable to beat the count.

  15. Tyson would knock him out
