I think you'd be hard pressed to come up with a better fight than this, although it would run the risk of becoming very tactical and boring for some people.

Who would win???

  1. Floyd because although I don't like watching his fights he has unmatched defensive ability in the ring, the guy hardly takes any shots to the face even in his longest fights and guards his body well too

  2. Whitaker on the strength of his jab in a close one

  3. It would be the boringest fight ever. There might not even be a punch thrown because neither has ever taken a forward step in their life.

  4. Floyd

Look at what Oscar did to Pernell,

Look at what Floyd did to Oscar,

Pernell was great but i think Floyd would take it in a split decision. And plus so far floyds tactis seem to be bulletproof while pernell was exposed...

Great tactical fight, Floyd wins by split decision

  5. At his very best, Whitaker was probably one of the hardest fighters to hit with a clean shot much like Floyd.  Whitaker fought as a southpaw and I think this would have given Floyd some trouble.  Mayweather would have been fighting nearly a mirror image here and I believe it would have been a very close and competitive fight with a lot of boxing skills being displayed.  To a boxing purist, this is a great match.  If you are looking for a lot of toe to toe exchanges or aggressiveness, this would not be your cup of tea, so to speak.  Still I think it would have been entertaining with Whitaker winning a close decision.

  6. the best fights were the ward v gatti fights and they arent the best fighters ever theyr just willing to take hits so they can give them. pretty boy floyd is the opposite of that. whitaker v mayweather would b a good tactical fight and boxers could learn **** from watchin it but it wouldnt b that fun to watch.

i cant stand pbf so i wanna say whitaker would win

  7. Pernell whitaker at 135 - 147 would have Giving Mayweather a boxing lesson.

If you really want to use ODH as the measuring stick.

Pernell fought a prime ODH and Made him look silly - missing seven punch combinations.

And Oscar was pressing forward throwing punches from all angles.

Floyd fought a 10 year past his prime mechanical, cautious ODH and barely got by him.

    Sweet pea by SD

  8. first of all, why would it be the most exciting fight ever.... floyd runs, so that already is going to make it boring.... i rather see pernell take on mosely or cotto... not a tactical/running/boring floyd...
