  1. STAY AWAY.  A friend of mine suckered me into going to one of these meetings.  It was wierd to say the least.  Essentially it is a pyramid scheme.  Now the products they sell are actually from Citibank and they are legit products.  The problem is that you are not provided with client lists.  You are forced to sell these things to family and friends and you know how that works out.  Cold calling won't work either because nobody will meet you with you unless your from a reputable company.  Now the way people become successful in Primerica is by getting people to join and sell underneath you.  You don't really make anything on stuff you sell, a very small percentage.  But if you get someone else to join, then you get say 10% of the sales they make.  So the more people you sign up the more money you make.  It's a pyramid.  So whoever called you probably wasn't as high up in the company as you think, they were just trying to get you to come aboard so you could sell underneath them.  I remember at the meeting they said that you become a Vice President after only 6 months, does that sound right to you?  no it's a gimmick.  When you sign up you have to bay $200.  What company makes you pay when you get hired?  Trust me on this one, stay away unless you like praying on family and friends.

  2. Primerica will pay for your licenses but when I went to one of their meetings, the people that were working looked "a hot mess". They didn't look like they were making money at all and the guy that recruited me told me he was making all this money, but his car was broke down. But as far as your licenses (mortgage broker, insurance) they pay for you to go.

It's still totally sales and basically a scheme where you recruit other sales people and can make money off of them eventually- but nothing bad, just not something I would like to do. If you are into sales and financial products like mortgages and insurance, you should do it. After talking with the guy, it sounded like their main money maker was insurance combined with some financial planning (whether they were trained in financial planning I don't know.
