Primo Star favourite for 2nd June Stayers Stakes
Primo Star is rated favourite for the 2nd June Stayers Stakes at Coventry in England on Thursday, June 14, 2012. A cash prize of £200 will be awarded to the winner of the 672 metres flat race.
The Grade OR event will start at 21:15 GMT and it has attracted six quality runners. Their names are as follows: Jurisdiction, Goa Leprechaun, Primo Star, Coolykereen Dip, Lydias Belle and Wilberforce.
Although Primo Star has only entered one Grade OR event until now, he is carrying an excellent momentum at the moment and it will be difficult to stop him from taking the top spot at Coventry.
The C. Stringer’s trained hound has never raced at Coventry before, but a change in conditions will not matter much, as he has the potential to cope up with such pressure in this class.
The white and black dog started his career with a few trial runs and his performances in them were good. He then went onto race in Grade A3 events and managed to perform decently in them.
In his most recent run in a Grade A3 race, Primo Star delivered a very good run, but had to settle for the runner up position. He had also finished second in his only Grade OR outing. He is in good form right now and is expected to carry the momentum into
the race at Coventry.
The favourite dog is the son of Head Bound out of Ard Surge and was born in November 2009.
The bookies seem to have more confidence in the abilities of Jurisdiction, who has got more experience in this class. However, he has been unable to deliver a winning run in recent times, thus the punters might be a touch hesitant to risk money on him.
The H. Dimmock’s trainee has taken part in quite a few Grade OR events so far in his career. His performances in them have been decent, but he will be under some pressure at Coventry today.
The white and brindle dog had a very good chance of winning his most recent race, but he failed to challenge his opponents. He could only manage a distant fifth place, which would have disappointed his followers.
