Prince Alzain likely to claim Deloitte Handicap under Frankie Dettori
Prince Alzain will pair up with veteran jockey, Frankie Dettori, in order to claim the Deloitte Handicap at Ascot in England on Saturday, July 21, 2012. A victory in the class-2 event will earn them a cash prize of £28,013.
Rain has stayed away from the track, which means that the going will be good. However, the weather is quite unpredictable these days and anything can happen before the start of action at Ascot.
A total of 12 runners have been attracted towards the 1 mile event, which is scheduled to start at 14:45 GMT. If the conditions do not change, Prince Alzain will definitely be a top contender for victory. He has been given a general starting price of 14
to 1 by the bookmakers, but the punters might be reluctant to risk money on him.
One of the main reasons for that is the higher level of competition in the race. There are some extremely good runners roaring to make an impression today. This will make the competition extremely close, but the best horse will definitely finish on top at
the end of the day.
Looking at the overall statistics of Prince Alzain, it is pretty much clear that he has the ability to battle at the top. He has participated in eight races until now, winning a couple of them whereas finished third on the same number of times. In addition
to that, he secured the runner up spot once, which shows that he is capable of giving a tough time to his opponents.
The three-year-old colt made his debut in competitive racing back in September 2011. He started off his career in a nice way, finishing third in his first ever outing. He followed that up with a fourth place finish, but displayed his real skills at the end
of the year.
The Gerard Butler’s trainee finished the 2011 season on a high, winning a couple of back to back events at Wolverhampton. He was not rated as the favourite to win any of them, thus surprised one and all with his sheer talent.
However, things have not turned out to be good for the young runner in 2012, as he has not yet won any race this year. He finished 18th in his previous outing, which shows that he is struggling for momentum.
Despite that, Street Sense’s son has the ability to make a strong comeback today, as he has an ideal partner to do so.
