Prince Bishop strikes his debut win for the season in the Al Naboodah Travel &Tourism Handicap on 20th January and posts a win for Goldolphin
Prince Bishop trained by Saeed bin Suroor won the Al Naboodah Travel & Tourism Handicap on 20th January at the Meydan, raced over a distance of a mile and a furlong. The race was one of the four handicaps that served as the
fourth fixture of the Dubai World Cup Carnival, 2012.
Through all the four handicaps, this was the only one that decided a winner for the Godolphin Racing that remained winless in the rest of the races, despite the ample number of entries that they had in each of the races. For instance, this race had
two entries by Saeed bin Suroor, Prince Bishop and Spring Of Fame.
Suits Me trained by David Barron and ridden by Ted Durcan soon took charge of the track after coming out of the second gate, raced on for two and a half furlongs, but did not respond to the speeding requirement of the track as the competition closed
in.
De Kock trained Mr Brock and Monte Alto trained by Al Raihe, both barged in speedily after racing through the mid division.

Prince Bishop tracked the leader’s, and after over hauling them, he led for the next two and a half furlongs. During the final furlongs, he coincided with his stable mate, Spring Of Fame, who also performed brilliantly in the concluding one and a half
furlongs, but could not impact the comfortable finishing of the winner.
Ridden by Frank Dettori, Spring of Fame, however, did finish the closest to the winner, who had Mickael Barzalona onboard. The third place got reserved by Al Raihe trained Monte Alto, who was paired with Richard Hills.
This was Prince Bishop’s debut race and win for the year, and also the first time that he won while riding with jockey Frankie Dettori.

His last season was not very exciting as the five-year-old gelding of Dubawi out of North East Bay, only won the last start out of the five races that he participated in throughout the previous season.
Saeed bin Suroor had three entries in the SMKA – MK by Honeywell Handicap held on the same day, but could not win as he was placed second, fourth and fourteenth on the field of fifteen competing.

However, this race did prove to be very lucrative for him with one entry being the winner and the other, the runner up.
