  1. Yes the wine was undrinkable, the wine was spoilt so it would have been poured down the drain if it wasn't converted to fuel.  Alot of wine makers abroad do this and power various machinery, so it well worth while using something that would have only been poured away.


  2. It may or may not have been. In Georgia, there is a company that takes byproducts from beer brewing and spoiled beer then converts it to ethanol for fuel. One company is marketing a home-made ethanol maker for private use. It can refine old boose into fuel-grade ethanol. I don't know why Charlie does that, but here in the US, we usually do that with bad alcohol to recycle it into fuel.

  3. It may or may not have been drinakble.  In Europe the convert millions of litres of wine into ethanol to keep the prices high.
