Prince Charles outstanding humanitarian?

It is reported today by the BBC that Prince Charles has declined an invitation to the 2008 Beijing Olympics because of Chinese atrocities in Tibet. A controversial, noble and truly humanitarian gesture.

Despite this Prince Charles along with other prominent members of the British Monarchy endorse Chinese products by the grant of a "By appointment" warrant bearing the relevant coat of arms of the endorsee.

These products are then promoted using the warrant by the brands concerned, benefitting Chinese Industry, to the detriment of British Industry whilst providing funding for the Chinese regime.

Should the Prince and his other family members also withdraw these warrants?

  1. It is up to him really I mean hasn't he just made a very loud statement regarding Tibet? Kind of like damned if you do and damned if you don't, it is never good enough.

  2. don't know about humanitarian, I thought he was a vegetarian, I guess that what comes from marrying a dog and kissing trees. As for the Royal Warrants, do you really think they do it for free?

  3. I know of no Chinese products that sport the Royal warrant. If Prince Charles has refused an invitation,he can only be commended for it.Every other country should do the same.Hundreds of thousands of people have been made made homeless in Peking and given little or no compensation. There is so much pollution there that the air is not safe to breathe. The food is a mixture of paper and waste matter, not fit for human consumption. The Peoples Liberation Army is the main beneficiary of the games since most companies in China are either owned or controlled or are endorsed by the army.I could go on at length as to why these games should be boycotted but there is neither the time nor the space to fit it all in.

  4. I agree with you and why are they buying Chines goods anyway there is plenty to buy at home and put food in the mouths of British people.

  5. Can you say which Chinese products have by royal appointment on, or is it just what you have heard.

  6. ROCK ON Prince Charles!!

End Chinese prison labor & make Wal-mart accountable!

  7. Didn't realise he had done that.  A small effort which may not go far in helping Tibet but it obviously must have taken him some courage to do that, thanks you just upped my impression of Prince Charles.

  8. Yes he should. Thank you for drawing attention to this issue. Please make available info on which products he endorses that he ought not. Merci!

  9. no he's not, Not in a million years

  10. He doesn't like the fact that the Chinese have enslaved their people and are selling companies worthless tainted good worldwide?

    Good on him!

  11. you go PIB.......i totally agree with you.   and so should everyone else!

  12. you cant have a royal warrant unless the item is fully british,it is imposible for the chinese to get it ,they do not put their "by appoinment" on foreing things, "3 cheers for charly" a good example is what is known as moon bears, check them out on the internet and just see how brutal the chinese are.
