Prince Edward Island Water

I'm going up to Prince Edward Island August 16 - Aug 23 with my family. We're staying on the ocean, and I love to swim and play in the ocean, but I am just wondering what is the water temperature like up there that time of year? I heard it's warm because the gulf stream goes up there...anybody know from experience?

  1. The average water temp on PEI's north shore is around 70F, a few degrees warmer on the south shore and no the Gulf stream doesn't go into the Gulf of St.Lawrence(north shore) or the Northumberland Strait(south shore). The Gulf stream just comes closer to the Canadaian mainland during the summer months which in turn leads to warmer waters.
