Prince Fielder’s double RBIs help Milwaukee Brewers defeat Minnesota Twins 4-3 – MLB Update
Milwaukee Brewers’ first baseman, Prince Fielder was amazing with the bat as he hit two RBIs and posted a single run with 1-for-2 in the Brewers’ 4-3 win against the Minnesota Twins at Miller Park, Milwaukee on June 24.
The Brewers led the series 1-0 after winning the first game.
In the first three innings, the batters missed scoring opportunities and got out. Michael Cuddyer walked but did not give away any run to his team and Delmon Young was grounded out to second base at the top of the first inning.
On the other side, the Brewers’ infielder Casey McGehee was struck-out swinging and Corey Hart got out at second base at the end of second inning. Joe Mauer was lined out towards left-field and Cuddyer flied out to centre-field during the third inning.
The Brewers’ batters opened the scoring account for their team in the fourth inning and took a 1-0 lead when Hart doubled to deep right-field and Fielder scored one run. McGehee advanced to second base at the end of fourth inning.
During the fifth inning of the game, the Brewers were 2-0 when Randy Wolf posted one run on the ground-rule double of Ryan Braun towards deep right-field. Rickie Weeks moved to third base during this inning.
The Twins’ batters stepped on the gas in the sixth inning and gusted three runs to go-ahead 3-2. Danny Valencia hit a three-run homer (377 feet) to left-field while Cuddyer and Young contributed the last two runs of the inning. However, the Brewers’ batters
showed their aggressiveness and posted two runs in the seventh inning to get a 4-3 lead.
Fielder drove a double-run shot off deep right-field while Weeks and Nyjer Morgan added the leading runs for the Brewers. Fielder stated his excitement and said, “Whenever you have a good team and you're winning, that usually brings out the best years in
guys. I'm just happy we're winning. That makes it easier to come to the field, makes it easier to play.”
The pitchers lifted their team’s potential in the last two innings and did not allow any run. Wolf pitched seven innings with an ERA of 3.20 and gave three runs on six hits including three earned runs. He was able to strike-out five batters and permitted
three walks on 103 pitches.
