  1. To say that one string is better than another depends on many factors. Most strings on the market today are good quality strings. Most are designed for different facets of the actual players game or demands. What I can do for you is give you some survey ratings from the 2008 USRSA String Survey Member's Choice Awards. These ratings are on a 1 to 10 scale with 10 being the highest.

Factors are Playability, Durability and Comfort.

Babolat Pro Hurricane - 16 gauge

    Playability - 6.34

    Durability - 8.36

    Comfort - 5.77

    Average Score - 6.82

    Survey responses - 64

Babolat Pro Hurricane - 17 gauge

    Playability - 7.55

    Durability - 8.22

    Comfort - 6.52

    Average Score - 7.27

    Survey responses - 27

    Prince Pro Blend w/Duraflex - 16 gauge

    Playability - 5.27

    Durability - 9.32

    Comfort - 5.07

    Average Score - 6.55

    Survey responses - 60

To determine what string is best for YOUR game you have a couple options. Test drive several of the hundreds of different strings that are on the market today (which can be very expensive for you) or go see a certified professional stringer and tell him/her what style of game you play and what you are looking for in a string.

  2. Luxilon ALU Power and NXT/Gut (choice of many touring pros).

Really depends on your play style, play level and racquet head size.  I don't break strings often so I prefer to go for a high-end multifilament like NXT Tour, Babolat Excel Premium or Prince Sweet Perfection.

  3. I can honestly say that pro hurricane is better than prince pro blend. I used prince string with duraflex from 1997 until 2004 when I switched to pro hurricane. Pro hurricane is a very stiff string though and feels nothing like the prince string.
