Prince William of Wales is designated to be the future King of the United Kingdom. He will succeed his father, Prince Charles of Wales since he is second in line to the British throne. Unless Prince Charles decides to abdciate or passes away before Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom, Prince William will have to wait for his turn.

He will not "take" it like in the old days when Kings could raise armies and take land that was previously not theirs, but he stands to inherit it in direct line once his grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, dies or vacates the throne, after it goes to his father Prince Charles.  If Prince Charles chooses not to accept, or dies before he inherits, then it would go to Prince William.
