Does anyone really think that he gets stuck in and gets his hands serously dirty, or does he just hover in the background picking up twigs on the beach? I know which one my money on!

  1. Uh... I thought this would be about someone finally introducing him to a good hair product.

  2. He would if I were still in the Navy!

  3. In Her Majesty's Royal Navy, the officers do not indulge in physical labour of any kind! that is what the 'ships company' is for.

This is just a six week 'jolly' for him, it is not serving in the real RN at all.

    Edit.

Sam, it takes more than six weeks to learn Naval History and a similar amount of time to find your way around a ship and the routines and protocols involved.

  4. Only last week he single handedly arrested a boat load of drug smugglers.  Now you say he's helping with hurricane relief?  The lad's a saint.

  5. He gets basic training in all things naval..there are "rules" about royals in military "service"  and his personal bodyguards who accompany him at all times make sure he is never put in a life threatening situation

  6. I saw him help with packing up aid parcels at a red cross depot in Warmley - he and his bro got stuck in and did exactly what they were asked to do, like all the volunteers - for as long as they were allowed to, after a couple of hours they were whisked off by guys in suits. They didn't look happy about it. I don't think they have a lot of control of their lives.

  7. he will do what he is supposed too, thats the army, sure they wont take too many chances because hes next in line to the throne but he will be treated just as equally as the rest of the crew. He played apart in the drug bust.

  8. What gets my back up is that they join up with good intentions then do nothing due to the risk then come home a hero while the true hero's cant come home, stuck in a war with no purpose, ill equipped, don't get looked after etc and they do not get any recognition and their lives are deemed less that of a royal even tho in the past  royals used to fight and die in wars that involved their country.

They just sit on the side line get medals for sweet FA

  9. ya, one thinks that maybe one could be correct!

  10. So he might not win labourer of the year, but he's bringing valuable publicity to the cause. Would we be talking about it if he wasn't there at all?
