Question:

Prince of Tennis acrobatic play?

I've been wondering if people can really do acrobatic play in tennis, like Eiji does in Prince of Tennis. And if it were possible, do you think that it will go against tennis rules?

  1. its possible... i think.. some people can do acrobatic play... i think acrobatic play is only for doubles... it is not against tennis rules!

  2. i don't think so coz doing acrobatic play could sprain or injure someone's muscles. but if it were possible. a player must be really fast to catch that ball.

i think it won't go against tennis rules

  3. I am sure people can do acrobatic play in tennis, but most of it would be wasted movement for show.  The best movement in tennis is more direct, like a high jump, a dive (then roll to fall gracefully), or a reach that ends in the splits.  Prince of Tennis really exaggerates a lot of "moves", but thats what makes it fun to watch.  A lot of the crazy moves have some truth to them, but you have to know tennis to recognize them.  And no, its not against the rules to do back flips, handsprings, and cartwheels on the tennis courts.

  4. Well it's not against the rules and people have been know to DIVE for the ball but to do that on a constant basis is asking to get hurt. Like I mean if you were to dive for the ball every time it came near you I'm sure that even yourself would look at that person and say, "Wow, idiot." Also if you think about it, anyone that has relative skill to aim a shot would shoot it into the other direction as soon as they are doing so sort of cartwheel.
