Here's a question about the Disney movie, Sleeping Beauty.

When the princess is a baby in the beginning and the evil lady comes by and says that she shall prick her finger on the spindle of a spinning wheel and die.

How can anyone die by pricking their finger on a spindle?

  1. -The needle was cursed. It had heavy magic cast on it so that the second she would touch it she would fall into a deep sleep.

-You're right that the king had burned every spinning wheel but that doesn't mean that the witch couldn't make her own. She had plenty of slaves and don't forget she had that magic sceptor in her hand. She could have easily summond one out of thin air.

    Hope that helped! :)

  2. posion on the needle and it gets in your blood

    loss of bblood maybe

  3. no one i think. even princess aurora survived, right?

  4. In the book it's a poisoned spindle

  5. The needle had poison on it...I guess? Who cares? it's magic!

  6. The Original story is about a magic spell cast by a wicked witch. So it is not possible as you say... but the idea of a magic spell is that it defies all normal logic.

  7. poisen mate poisen

  8. i guess the needle had a curse on it because of magic.. or it was rusty

  9. No, it is not really possible.

That was a fictional curse, and the only way it would have happened was because of the curse. Even the characters in the fictional story would not have died by pricking their finger, it would have to be connected to the curse.

  10. The spinning wheel needle was the catalyst for the curse. It wasn't that the needle itself was poisoned (otherwise they wouldn't have banished ALL wheels from the kingdom) it was that pricking her finger would start the curse.

It is sort of like the idea that walking under a ladder is bad luck. It isn't the ladder itself that is bad luck, it is the act of walking under it that triggers the bad luck. In Sleeping Beauty the act of pricking her finger triggers the curse.

Edit: That is exactly what I said.... ALL of the wheels were banished. Why? Because for her to prick her finger on a wheel the curse would begin. If it was about a particular poison needle, the king would have just gotten rid of that wheel in that case.

  11. The spinning wheel's spindle is poisoned. As illogical as it may sound, it is still a cartoon meant for children who don't try to understand the reason behind everything that happens in the shows and movies they watch.

It's not real, and why would someone out of the blue be getting help from fairies that come to give them gifts at their birth? Those aren't real, either.
