We are deciding which Princess ship to the Caribbean we're going to sail on. Is the Princess Caribbean a large or small ship? Preferably an answer from someone who has been on it and others.

  1. Just took the Crown Princess to Caribbean in February.  It was my 1st cruise.  The ship seemed enormous to me:)  But I have nothing to compare it to.

Plenty of room, had a nice balcony veiw, plenty of food and bar choices, and recreaction options on the ship.

    Have a great time, I know I did :)

  2. i was on the Caribbean Princess November of '05. it was my 2nd favorite ship of the 5 i've cruised. it is a large ship but not huge as are some of the others i have seen. on a scale of 1 - 5 i'd rate it a 4 in size. now the Grand Princess is a monster of a ship. i would prefer not to go on a huge ship. i think i will try and stick with one that is mid-sized from here on in. that is just my personal preference.

  3. Caribbean Princess

Caribbean Princess is the Grand Daddy of our Princess fleet, with the largest carrying capacity. This ship's 900 balcony staterooms and an entire deck of Mini-Suites

  4. I have been on it twice, and i love it! It's one of my favorite ships. it's huge, and you will have a blast on it!

  5. we went on the golden princess during it's first season we loved it.

  6. It's a pretty darned big ship.   She carries up to 3,782 guests (3,114 at double occupancy, but a lot of people sail with families so there are 3 or even 4 people in lots of cabins.)

A little too big for my taste; it didn't "feel like a ship" to me.  But on the plus side, it had lots of facilities - quite a few pools, restaurants and bar options.

You can see pictures of the ship (including cabins, public rooms, etc.) in this Cruise Journal:

  7. Rather then pick which ship, it would be better to pick what ports you want to go on. Now I have been on 8 cruises with Princess from a small one that goes through the Panama Canal to the grand. Once you get up to the size of the Grand, it really doesn't matter which ship you go on as they are all great. Of course I am hoping to go on the Ruby which is there newest next year, but I'll see. Anyways I have been to both the eastern Caribbean and western Caribbean and my favorite port was to St Thomas because of the fantastic snorkeling. I also loved the Grand Caymen because of the shopping. Anyway, what ever you choose, you will have a great time.
