Princess Chunk. The Cat?

Question

Okay so my older brother had a pair of two cats.

Their names were Cheech and Chong. (lol)

However, Cheech ran away about 4 years ago.

My brother calls to tell me to turn on the news, and he says that Cheech was on TV and they had found him and named him Princess Chunk-

Princess Chunk weights 44 pounds, (just like his brother, Chong)

Cheech was a big fat cat, with the same exact coat and everything.

Is there anyway that my older brother could claim this cat as his?

They already found the owner.  The person had been evicted and abandoned the cat...the cat is now up for adoption and on a diet.

They said he is up for adoption, so he could just go and adopt him,couldn't he?

Nope.  They held the cat the legal amount of time they had to before adopting him out.

if he has vetiranary records that could ID the cat, or if the cat has been microchipped, maybe. Otherwise, best bet would be to contact the owner and explain the situation - provide proof like photos and knowledge of the cat's behaviour and quirks and hope for the best

  He could probably call or e-mail the channel that he saw this on, and they would guide him from there.  I think they are still holding him for adoption.  This would depend on how long the lady who claimed to be her owner had her since your brother lost her.  Hope this helps and good luck.  Try it now while the story is still hot.

O.O I doubt it's the same cat, because my cat's brother has the very same markings as her. But if it his kitty, he has to find the owner of the cat, show them the papers for the cat, and claim that the cat is his. if it is his cat, he will come to his name. good luck by the way.
