Princess Highway geared up to thrive in Ribblesdale Stakes
Princess Highway holds high betting odds for the Ribblesdale Stakes (Group 2) (Fillies), a high-profile Class 1 contest that is going to take place at Ascot racecourse today, June 21. After the break call at 3:05 (GMT), the D. K. Weld-trained bay filly will
be able to seal a sterling success convincingly.
On the good track of 1 mile and 4 furlongs, the fantastic filly will show her guts against 13 contestants including Chella Thriller, Colima, Dinvar Diva, Hazel Lavery, Inchina, Kailani, Momentary, Pink Damsel, Salford Art, Shirocco Star, The Fugue, Twirl
and Vow.
The prize purse of the race contains £77,092.
Princess Highway is looking to complete her maiden hat-trick with the ace title of the Ribblesdale Stakes. The three-year-old novice runner started her career with 8th position against 16 rivals on October 30, 2011.
The maverick sprinter moved ahead to break her maiden in Irish Stallion Farms European Breeders Fund 3yo Fillies Maiden that was held at Leopardstown on March 28, 2012. This was a remarkable achievement indeed.
With sheer confidence, the brilliant daughter of Street Cry out of Irresistible Jewel proceeded to grab another grand triumph in her third and last start on May 16.
Now the filly is keen to make a big impact in today’s marathon. From all aspects, she seems to be in winning position. The only threat she will face is Shirocco Star who is all set to shine at Ascot.
The Hughie Morrison-trained bay filly debuted with a runner-up position in September 2011 and moved forward to break her maiden on October 22.
The daughter of Shirocco out of Spectral Star elegantly finished second in each of her last two outings on May 18 and June 1, 2012.
Thus, the stage is set for a stern scuffle between Princess Highway and Shirocco Star. This will make the event thrilling and amazing.
Vow will also be able to perform well today. The William Haggas-trained bay filly debuted with a classic conquest on April 20, 2012 and moved forward to achieve another success in the very next outing. She finished 4th in her last outing on June
1.
Let us enjoy the fantastic action and see who gains what. Good luck to all the runners.
