Princess Star. Are the mini suites really worth the extra cost or does a balcony room work just as well?

We are going to Alaska and wonder if the view off the balcony are good or if viewing topside is better.

A balcony is just fine. We were ungraded once to a mini suite and the only thing different between a mini and a balcony is it has a couch in it. The bathroom was slightly bigger as well as the closet. A balcony is a must when going to Alaska. When you are in Glacier national park, everyone goes top side to see the glaciers and boy does it get crowded up there. It is much nicer to see the glaciers right from your balcony room. Now don't worry if your room is one the wrong side of the glaciers as they will turn the ship around Midway through the glaciers so you won't miss a thing.
